Holiday Season with the Muse’s!

Hi there & happy Monday! We have made it through the holiday season (AKA the busiest time of the year) and are now entering the slow and much needed month of January.

These last 2 months have been crazy busy for my family, but filled with a tremendous amount of joy and stress if we’re going to be real lol. Isn’t everyone’s holiday season filled with some amount of stress though? All the pressure to make everything as perfect as possible & wanting to take your children to do all the festive things that you can fit into your already full schedule. I absolutely loved everything we were able to make happen this past Fall & Winter, but I do want to take things a little slower next year so that we can all enjoy it even more.

Now grab your coffee, tea, or wine (😉) and get to reading what all we managed to jam into these last 2 months!

We ended November with work events, activities for Kannon, & family time.

Southern Quality Construction (my husband’s company), sponsored the Texas Custom Knife Show in Conroe, TX for the second year in a row. This is such a fun, family-friendly event held annually at Southern Star Brewing Company. Please come join us next November & visit our tent.

•Kannon got his very first haircut a couple days before Thanksgiving. Not gonna lie, I got a little emotional leading up to this appointment & getting him seated in his chair. He was not a fan of the haircut process this time, but he looked so darn cute walking away with a big smile once it was finished.

•Thanksgiving 2022! We started the first part of our day visiting with Jordan’s family before heading over to my sister and her fiancé’s house where they hosted their first family holiday. My whole family gathered to celebrate Thanksgiving with each other. Jordan made the best fried Turkey and Kannon was an overstimulated mess, which about sums up how our Thanksgiving Day went. We also deeply missed our Mila this Thanksgiving, but we were thankfully able to FaceTime her for a little while. 🧡

We had so much fun in December! We had Mila with us most of the month & it was amazing. Mila and I enjoyed lots of morning walks to the bus stop, we got the whole house lit up this year & added a cute snowman family to our front yard, I took the kiddos ice skating (it was Kannon’s first time), Mila looked adorable for all of her themed Christmas days at school, the kids got to see Santa (Kannon wasn’t very happy about it this year), Mila’s elf was up to many mischievous things, we celebrated lots of family member’s birthday’s, we enjoyed many dinner’s out with our friends, we got to see Avatar: The Way of Water (which was amazing in my opinion), and we just spent tons of time together as a family & it was absolutely wonderful.

We also made it out to Santa’s Wonderland in College Station, TX the Tuesday before Christmas. It was such a nice evening with some of our great friends and truly got us all in the Christmas spirit. We enjoyed dinner, train rides & hayrides, the most epic petting zoo, hot coco, snow ball fights, and getting to see Mila ride a mechanical bull for the first time.

Santa’s Wonderland is such a fun Christmas tradition. I highly recommend going during the week at the end of November/early December to beat the crowds. The universal express pass is also a total game changer. I will not be going back without one.

Christmas Eve was truly the best. We had a nice breakfast as a family before making our way to church for the Christmas Eve service.

We spent the afternoon/early evening by the fire outside while Jordan cooked dinner and I helped Mila work on her gingerbread house.

Dinner was a delicious meal of grilled lamb ribs, mashed potatoes, baked beans, and corn. We then ended the evening watching “Elf” and baking brownies for Santa Clause.

I don’t know about y’all, but a quiet evening with my family is my idea of a perfect night. ❤️

This was our very first year to have both kids together for Christmas and to host our family in our home.

We could truly feel the magic as our kids faces lit up Christmas morning as they opened their gifts. We also loved getting to host everyone for the day as well.

We played white elephant, enjoyed homemade Italian food for dinner, roasted marshmallows by the fire pit, and ended the night with some cards against humanity.

This was definitely one of my favorite Christmases and I honestly think they’re only going to continue to get better and better from here. 🎄

And since December wasn’t busy enough as it was, we also decided to begin our primary bathroom renovation. I will be doing a complete post of before and after photos and what selections we made, but here is a sneak peak of our color scheme, tile selections, and partial demo job for now.

We had a nice, quiet night at home with just the boys & I to ring in the new year. It was a great way to celebrate after such a busy Christmas.

January has been filled with my mom’s birthday celebration, continued bathroom renovations, a zoo day with friends, and a road-trip to Dallas to celebrate my cousin’s baby shower. We don’t have too much on the agenda for the remainder of this month so I’m excited to start taking things slow.

I hope each of you have a beautiful start to a new year & a wonderful week ahead. I’ll be back again very soon.

XOXO, Paige.
