Howdy y’all & happy Monday! I hope each of you had a wonderful weekend. We have started to get some cooler weather out here in Magnolia, Texas and I am 100% here for it.
Buckle up for a 2 week recap. I had every intention of getting this post published by last Wednesday at the latest, but #momlife happened, so here we are.
Now grab your coffee, tea, or wine (😉) and get to reading!

We didn’t arrive back until late Monday afternoon after our trip to Orlando, so I spent the following Tuesday trying to recoup & relax a bit. Kannon & I went grocery shopping, played, and got some daily chores done.
We ended the night with some delicious vegetable fried rice & vegan orange chick’n made by yours truly. Kannon absolutely LOVES vegetable fried rice, so this dinner is always a hit for the entire family.

Once Wednesday rolled around, I got right back on the grind! I completed my workout a bit earlier in the day, which feels so much better. It’s still just as hard of a workout, but I have a little more energy to get it done when I complete them earlier than 9pm. 🤪
We LOVE our little gym classes. Daddy even got to join us the Thursday before last, which was so much fun. It has been amazing watching Kannon be brave while exploring the gym & trying new things. He has also been making the cutest little friends along the way.

Mila had the best time enjoying a school event with Jordan later that evening. We get to spend a little bit of time with her on Thursday evenings during our off week’s and we love to soak up every minute of it.

I ended the evening with a late night workout + leftovers & kombucha for dinner.

Kannon woke up coughing the following Friday morning, so I took him straight to the doctor to be safe before the weekend rolled around. Luckily, it is just allergies, but the poor guy still isn’t feeling quite himself this week either.
He was such a big boy at his appointment while he stood up on the scale & sat still while his doctor checked his ears. He now weighs a whopping 25 pounds.

We ran some quick errands then had lunch with Sis at her school. We brought one of her favorite things to eat, chicken fingers from Raising Cane’s!

I knocked out my cardio workout then got ready to have dinner with some of our long-time friends.
Jordan and I ended the night watching part of the new Rings of Power episode. We have been super into watching that & House of Dragon every weekend.

We had a super lazy Sunday & it was absolutely glorious. Kannon slept in super late and then snuggled with me for his nap time later. We also spent the afternoon eating yummy foods & watching football until it was time to get ready for Mila’s softball game.

Mila played so well again that Sunday evening. They had a late 7pm game, which sucked for a school night, but was also awesome since it wasn’t sweltering outside. Kannon sat and watched the entire game. He is the cutest, little Tree Frogs fan.

Last Monday felt SO busy! After getting Mila ready for school, I tried to fit in as much laundry & cleaning as I could. Kannon was also an anti-napper because he wasn’t feeling good.. His doctor prescribed him a steroid that we hoped would help knock this allergy/cold gunk out.
My mom came over later in the afternoon to watch Kannon for me while I went in for my first laser hair removal treatment. Jordan got a membership to Ideal Image for laser hair removal as my birthday gift this year and I can’t even explain to you how excited I am. I have always had very sensitive skin that is prone to razor burn, so the thought of never having to shave again once these treatments are complete is SO exciting!
Also, it was Monday so new week means new workout plan/goals. Monday’s workout included:
•An outdoor walk of at least 2 miles (trying to complete at least 13 miles of walking and/or running this week).
•3 sets of 20 bicep curls with resistance band.
•1 1/2 minute plank (this was way harder than it used to be.. lol)
•Hammer curls-10 reps w/5lbs, 8 reps w/10lbs, & 6 reps w/15lbs repeated 4 times.
•2 min stretch break
•3 sets of 20 plank to push-ups

Tuesday morning was absolutely beautiful. I woke up to 58 degree weather and immediately planned to enjoy it. Mila and I walked/ran to the bus stop and then I continued to walk for a little while afterwards.
Kannon has been sleeping in until 9am every morning since he started taking his allergy medicine, so we had a nice breakfast on the patio once he woke up before making it out for another mile of walking together. I can’t wait for more mornings like this. 🧡

The rest of Tuesday felt like there was so much to do in such a small amount of time. Mila had requested that my mom and I come to have lunch at school with her, so we surprised her with not only my mom and I, but Jordan and Kannon as well. I brought her favorite meal from Raising Cane’s and my mom treated her with a chocolate cake pop from Starbucks. She was so happy.
I managed to fit in running a couple of errands before heading back to get Mila from school then it was time for softball practice & team photos.
Last, but not least, I squeezed in my lower body workout before calling it a night. This week’s lower body workout includes:
•5 minutes of interval walking/jogging/running-1 min walk, 1 1/2 min jog, 1 min walk, 30 second jog, & 1 min run.
•4 sets of 8 standing glute kickbacks with resistance band (each leg).
•4 sets of 8 standing hip abductors with resistance band (each leg).

Wednesday was another absolutely gorgeous day! Kannon & I enjoyed our morning with a walk & time a the neighborhood playground.
We also walked to get Sis from the bus stop later that afternoon and made our way back to the park for some more fun before dinner & bedtime routines.
I ended the night with my upper body workout. I felt dead afterwards with it being so late & I also had started to not feel well at all that evening with body aches, congestion, etc..

Kannon and I made our way to the urgent care after dropping Mila off at school to see what was going on with me on Thursday morning. I woke up feeling even worse than I did the night before & it turned out that the allergies or cold I was dealing with turned into a sinus & ear infection. 🙃
I absolutely hate getting sick, but not feeling well while taking care of your family is even worse.

After getting a little bit of rest & medicine in my system, the boys & I went to join my family to congratulate my sister & her fiancé on buying their very first home. We are so excited for them. ❤️

I managed to knock out a mile of walking/running + my lower body workout just before bedtime routines on Thursday evening.

Another beautiful day! We truly had such a gorgeous week & I soaked up as much of it as I possibly could. Kannon and I began our day with another outdoor walk & time at the playground after getting Sis to school and then spent the rest of the day getting the house squeaky clean & laundry done. I also knocked out my upper body workout just before having to run out the door for Mila’s softball game.
Mila had a late game on Friday night, but it was a good one. It was even a little chilly outside, which I personally loved!

Saturday was CRAZY busy with lots of fun. Mila had her last softball game for the regular season & we were on snack duty. I always have too much fun putting together goodies for her school & extracurricular events.
After her game we came straight home to freshen up then we were on our way to one of Mila’s teammate’s birthday party.

Last, but certainly not least (I told you it was a busy day) we made our way to our friends Hocus Pocus 2 viewing party. The party mostly consisted of babbling babies (primarily mine) playing together, good food, & a little bit of Hocus Pocus. I need to rewatch the movie all the way through, but I thought that the parts that I did watch were really cute. 🎃

We ended our beautiful, crazy week on a relaxing note with sleeping in, watching football, and ending the day at Paradigm Brewery which was an awesome place with great food & beers + super kid-friendly. Kannon & his best bud had a great time chilling out at the table and Mila loved the food & the outdoor play area. It was definitely a great place for us all!

Today was a pretty good Monday. I’m officially down 10 pounds since beginning consistently working out again & cutting back on adult beverages over this last month. I have lots of work to do in regards to cleaning up my diet, but I’m feeling excited about making more changes and feeling even better in my own skin.
I hope that each of you have a wonderful rest of your week. I’m hoping to enjoy another week with lots of outdoor time myself. I’ll be back to write again very soon!
XOXO, Paige.
