Good morning & happy Wednesday! Welcome back for a 2 week recap. We have been enjoying so many fun holiday festivities with our friends & family these last couple of weeks and I can’t wait to share it all with you.
Now grab your coffee, tea, or wine (😉) and get to reading this week’s recap:

The Saturday before last was so much fun! Jordan’s company, Southern Quality Construction, helped sponsor this year’s Texas Custom Knife Show at Southern Star Brewing Company.
Lauren & I had a blast helping our guys promote the business, enjoying some delicious drinks, and loving on our baby boys.
By the way, if you’re ever at Southern Star Brewing Company make sure you try their Black Cherry Meade.

The boys and I cheered on the Texans the following Sunday as they played a brutal game against the Colts.
I can’t handle Kannon in those headphones…

Last Monday was my younger brother’s 20th birthday. Jordan, Mila, Kannon, and I spent some time at my parents house having pizza & playing poker to celebrate Davis’ special day.

Tuesday was such a fun day! Mila’s elf, Ginger Bell, sent us on a trip to Santa’s Wonderland in Bryan, TX.
Santa’s Wonderland is such a magical place full of all the Christmas vibes. It’s definitely the perfect place to take your family to celebrate the holiday season, but would also be just as fun going without the kiddos.
We enjoyed the night with our friends Lauren & Jarrod + their 3 boys. We spent the night devouring some yummy BBQ, looking at Christmas lights, tubing, and going inside of a giant snow globe.

Wednesday was a rough day for me last week… I was utterly exhausted after having a late night + Kannon not sleeping well. It was one of those days where you have a million things to do, but you struggle to get through a single task.
This poor boy has his 2 bottom teeth pushing up against the gums so teething is in full force at the moment.
I acknowledged that it was going to just be one of those days and spent most of it snuggling this babe and getting small chores done when I could.

The last 2 weeks of school before Christmas break has included themed outfit days, which has been so much fun. On Thursday, the kids were supposed to bling in the holidays by wearing their favorite holiday bling of tinsel.
Mila’s school also provided a very fun event that evening that included professional photos with Santa. She had the time of her life playing with her school friends, building things, and taking photos with her siblings. I can’t wait to see how the photo with Santa Clause turned out. Kannon did very well for his first time meeting him.

My little family went to the Tomball German Festival on Friday night. This is a super fun event that takes place in Downtown Tomball twice a year. They fill the place with fun rides & activities, a bunch of little shops from local vendors, German style dancing & singing, and tons of different food choices ranging from traditional German food-fried Oreos.

This past Saturday was the busiest day that I have had in forever! We had a total of 3 parties to attend and some how managed to do it with a 3 almost 4 month old & a VERY sassy 7 year old.
Party #1 was my family’s annual PJ movie day. We started the tradition of wearing matching pajamas and going to see a movie at the theaters many years ago and have treasured all of the wonderful memories created from it. The last 2 years have looked a little different due to covid, so we celebrated the tradition at my grandparents home with all of my family and had a great time.
Party #2 was Jordan’s family’s annual Christmas party. We made our way to the second destination and had a delightful time getting to see Jordan’s grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and immediate family. I love watching Kannon be able to spend time with all of his loved one’s.
Party #3 was Davis’ official 20th birthday celebration. We ended the night at my parents house playing Texas Hold ‘Em and celebrating my fun, little brother.
Needless to say, we were exhausted by the end of the day.

We had another Texans game this past Sunday. They played the Seahawks and it was a much more enjoyable game than the last one. Our little guy was a bit more fussy than he usually is, but we still had a great time!

And just like that Kannon became 4 months old… time has truly been flying by and each month has made me a little sad to see him growing up so quickly, but I feel very excited this month to be able to try new things with Kannon and watch him evolve even more.
Kannon smiles, laughs, and babbles all the time and it is the absolute sweetest thing. He makes the funniest facial expressions and is a pro at raising his eyebrows. He is doing really well most days at rolling over from his tummy to his back, loves to stand up while I’m holding him, has started to grab everything, and is working on sitting up on his own.
He is now 11 pounds, 10 ounces and 24 inches long. He is a long & lean little guy, but is doing much better in the growing department now than his first couple of months. I was also given the OK to begin solids, so I am going to start trying out cereal with him this week. I am so excited to introduce him to foods and can’t wait to see which one’s are his favorites.

I scheduled our maids to come on Tuesday morning for the first time in almost 2 months. I had been trying to do it all myself on top of taking care of the kids and trying to cook as much as possible, but it was all becoming very overwhelming for me. I hope that one day I can manage it all, but for now I’ve accepted that I need a little help to keep the house in order and that is okay. I spent all day Monday cleaning up our mess & organizing the house so the maids could focus on all the detailed cleaning that is harder for me to get to.
Kannon and I went on a 2 hour walk while they worked on the house. He had woken up very fussy and with a fever from his 4 month vaccines that he got the day before, but he was so calm the entire walk & even took a peaceful nap. He seems to love these outdoor walks as much as his mama and it makes my heart so happy. ❤️

I can’t even explain how good it felt coming back to a super clean home… it smelled amazing and looked absolutely wonderful.
I had to snap some photos of the Christmas decor I have been working on now that the house actually looked presentable (lol). These photos are of our entryway, living area, and upstairs playroom.
I have adored working on decorating our home in general and also for the holidays. I had always dreamed of having a place of my own and putting my vision of how I wanted it to look together, but actually watching it slowly come together has brought me so much joy. We still have more furniture & decor to purchase, but we will get there eventually and I can’t wait to see what it all looks like then.

I plan to have a peaceful, go with the flow Wednesday since there isn’t much around the house for me to get done at the moment.
I pray that each of you are doing well & have a wonderful holiday season. This time of year can be truly amazing and I hope that it is for you as well.
Before I leave you all, I wanted to share something very special… Southern Quality Construction has chosen a family in need to help this Christmas and would love & appreciate any help whether it’s sharing this family’s story or donating towards the cause. Please click HERE to read about this sweet family who has sacrificed so much for our country.
I hope you all have a great rest of your week! I will be back to write again very soon.
XOXO, Paige.
