House & Pregnancy Update!

Happy freaking Saturday y’all! I hope you all have had an amazing summer so far. I can’t believe we’ve only got a little over a month before school is back in session and before we know it, it will be Fall (which I’m not complaining about 😉).

I know I’ve been a little MIA lately and haven’t been sharing my usual weekly recaps the last few weeks. I have decided for personal reasons that while my little family goes through some pretty big life changes, I will be taking a short break from the weekly recaps just until we get re-adjusted to a new, exciting normal. However, I will be sharing some updates and other fun blog posts here and there with you all for now.

Over the past few weeks there have been some changes and updates regarding my pregnancy & our home-build that I am excited to share with you all! Now grab your coffee, tea, or wine (😉) and get to reading!

Last time I updated y’all pregnancy wise, I was 29 weeks & feeling pretty good other than the awful sinus infection I had, enduring some more lower back pain & Braxton Hicks contractions.

I am now 32 weeks as of today, baby boy is roughly the size of a cantaloupe (or volleyball), and Mama is feeling pretty worn out these days. I have had 2 doctors appointments & 1 ultrasound since my last weekly recap. I am very happy to say that my gestational diabetes test went very well & baby boy looked very healthy, weighing 3.5 pounds at his latest ultrasound.

I ended up having to go in for a second appointment/early ultrasound at 30 weeks because my blood pressure was higher than the doctor would like to see and he wanted to run some tests for preeclampsia. I am in the clear of preeclampsia for the time being and my blood pressure has remained in a healthy range since my last appointment, but since my blood pressure is normally high outside of pregnancy the doctor wants to monitor me a little closer and run a few more tests to make sure the baby and I are staying healthy & strong. My next appointment and ultrasound will be in just a few short weeks and I cannot wait to see our growing boy again.

The last couple of weeks have definitely been harder on me, but I’m pushing through. I’m starting to feel very tired again, my feet and face are starting to swell, lower back pain is still very much a thing, it has started to get harder to breath now that my lungs are getting crowded, I’m beginning to retain water, and I’ve still been dealing with a dumb cough and congestion post sinus infection.

With all that being said, I am also feeling so excited to meet our baby boy soon. His due date is only 56 days away!! I get so excited to feel every little movement of his and have even been able to see my belly move when he does, which has been crazy cool! I have been craving sweets so much lately, especially chocolate. I also cannot wait to enjoy our upcoming baby shower’s!

Now for an update on the home-build process. Building a house at this time has been way harder than either my husband or I expected it to be. We both knew going into this process that there would definitely be bumps on the road and that it would be difficult to not be picky over every little detail of the house as it’s being built, but we also knew that we hired builders to be in charge of this process and it is not a custom home by any means.

Things have been moving along slowly but surely. The original plan when signing our contract was for us to be closed & living in our home by now and unfortunately that is not the case with all of the bad weather throughout this year, material shortages, etc. We are still waiting on some clear answers as to when the house will be completed and are hoping & praying it will be before baby boy arrives. We know that God has a plan for us and it’s all in His hands & on His timing.

Since I last shared a home-build update with y’all, there has been drywall fully installed with tape and float + texture completed. They also just recently finished bricking the home and installing all of the cabinets (photos are of the kitchen & primary bathroom). Next up will be the installation of the interior doors & trim plus, the cornice contractor is supposed to be coming back out to complete our hardie & trim on the exterior of our home + fix a few things before it all gets painted.

It has been excited being able to walk inside and it begin to feel much more like a home now that the drywall is complete and I am also so happy with how our brick & cabinet selections turned out. I can’t wait to see the exterior of the house once the hardie is complete & painted to show you all the contrast in colors.

It has been so nice being able to share some of the big changes taking place in my life right now. My little family could definitely use lots of prayers & good vibes while we go through these transitions.

I also really appreciate how patient you all have been with me lately. I promise to be back soon to share more exciting events & updates, so be on the look out for when those posts make their debut.

I hope each of you have a wonderful holiday weekend!! I wish you all the very best.

XOXO, Paige.
