BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

Hello everyone, I am so excited to share something with you that I have been working very, very hard on behind the scenes for the past several months….

Almost 3 years ago I felt a calling to do more with my life and my career. I have always been very passionate about health & nutrition as they were two vital components of my training as a competitive ice dancer. After spending over 2 years pondering whether I should further my education in this field, the pandemic hit and all of a sudden I had tons of time to finally research which programs I would like to pursue. I was then able to start my journey in learning SO much more about nutrition and the overall well-being of the human body.

At the end of March 2020, I had officially decided to enroll in the AFPA Holistic Health Coach Certification, which is two certifications combined into one program. After spending the past 6 months working tirelessly on my first certification while the world decided to re-open, I began to coach ice skating again, being a wife + a bonus mama, and life continually getting busier & busier, I officially completed my AFPA Holistic Nutritionist Certification on November 25, 2020!!!

I took a lot of time to research many different health & wellness companies offering certifications and I ultimately decided on AFPA for several different reasons. Some of the biggest factors in choosing AFPA included:

  • Offering a Holistic Nutrition Program-I wanted to find a program where I could learn the tools to help myself and others to optimize our overall health. Their holistic nutrition program has truly been an eye opener when it comes to nutrition, exercise, and overall well-being. This nutrition program also focuses on a primarily plant-based lifestyle, which is something I personally had become very interested in prior to starting this journey.
  • Flexible Schedule-The Holistic Health Coach Certification program is primarily self-paced. The only thing that is time specific is the latest date to complete all of your assignments and the final exam by, which is roughly 6 months out from the day you start your studies for each certification. I also loved that they provide you with a weekly schedule guideline to help keep you on track.
  • Internationally Accredited-I was surprised to find out that many nutrition, wellness, and fitness programs are NOT accredited, so when I saw that AFPA is not only nationally accredited, but also internationally accredited, it made me feel even more confident in making the decision to choose their certification program. AFPA has also been in business for over 26 years with several certified members working all over the world.
  • Helpful Staff-AFPA does a wonderful job at being extremely helpful whether you are trying to gather more information about their programs or simply need some guidance while you are enrolled in one of their courses. My education specialist, Corinne, was so sweet, would answer any question I had or quickly send me to someone who had the answer, and responded to my assignments with so much insightful detail.

Often times I do not give myself credit for the things that I do, but I can honestly say that I am pretty darn proud of myself for this accomplishment. I have one more certification to complete by May 2021, which is the AFPA Health & Wellness Coach Certification, so I am not quite done yet. This has been such a hard secret to keep from you all, but I didn’t want to announce anything until I had at least finished the first, much more extensive certification. I wanted to prove to myself that I could make it happen and put in the hard work even with life feeling crazy at the same time. Now that I have finally made this announcement, I can share that I am “studying” in my weekly recaps rather than stating I’m “getting tasks done” or “working from home” lol. Not sure if any of you guys noticed that in the past, but I certainly struggled to come up with what I was going to tell you I was doing each day, when in fact I was glued to a computer screen reading 6 different amazing books, watching tons of educational videos, completing several different assignments, and eventually completing my certification exam composed of 350 questions.

I have some pretty big plans that will be accompanying these certifications that I will share with you all when it is time. Until then, I will be sharing yummy recipes, workout ideas, and health tips here on the blog and also on my Instagram & Facebook pages, so be on the lookout for some awesome stuff!

Thank you all for always being so supportive, thank you to my awesome Dad who sponsored my certifications, and thank you to my caring husband and close friends/family who were there rooting for me along the way. I truly appreciate you all!

XOXO, Paige.
