COVID-19 Part 8: More Day-To-Day Life During a Pandemic

Hey y’all & happy Wednesday! I hope each of you had a lovely Mother’s Day weekend. I had a very enjoyable weekend myself and cannot wait to share everything I’ve been up to with y’all!

Now grab your coffee, tea, or wine (😉) and get to reading.

After I left y’all on Friday, I got dolled up for a night out with my husband. We went to a place called “The Barn” for some live music, yummy food & drinks, and some fun. It was such a great night being able to enjoy something we haven’t gotten to do in months. Being out in public like that was definitely strange & made me nervous, but we were very careful and I do believe it’s just going to feel that way as things slowly reopen. I’m just so glad we were able to share such an enjoyable night amidst all of the madness.

I had a nice sleep in on Saturday & a late morning sandwich with carrots and coffee (I know that sounds kind of strange lol) while I worked on a fun project that has been consuming most of my days lately (I promise I’ll share what it is later on).

Later that afternoon, Jordan & I went with his parents to the original Carrabba’s. I shared the calamari & shrimp appetizer with everyone and also enjoyed a Caesar salad & a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. It was delicious.

After lunch, we made our way to the gravesite to visit Jordan’s grandparents and to wish his grandmother a happy Mother’s Day.

We were both so tired by the time we got home Saturday evening. We played some games together, relaxed, and called it a night pretty early.

I could not sleep in at all & ended up waking up at 3:15am on Sunday morning. I decided to go ahead and start my day by having some coffee and working on my current project before I made myself an egg bagel for breakfast. It was a beautiful & cool Sunday morning, which made breakfast outside absolutely perfect.

Once I finished getting ready for the day, I found this Mother’s Day card from Jordan in our kitchen. I was so grateful that he thought to celebrate me being Mila’s bonus mama this year since it became official when we got married in November. Being able to help Jordan raise Mila & love her as if she were my own has truly been one of my greatest joys in my life. Hearing people tell me happy Mother’s Day & getting to celebrate the day with our amazing mother’s, made me feel so happy and also very appreciated.

We spent the first half of our afternoon at Jordan’s parents house by spending the day outside in the sunshine, playing Phase 10, and enjoying some yummy burgers for lunch.

We then spent the rest of the day at my parents house spending some time with the family & playing even more Phase 10 (we love that game if you can’t tell). It was so nice being able to spend time with and celebrate both of our mother’s.

I went back to my parents house on Monday to spend the day by the pool with my Mom & youngest brother, Hudson. We had a great time chatting, tanning, and eating Torchy’s Tacos for lunch. I’m so excited for more days by the pool this Summer.

Later that day, Jordan & I enjoyed a relaxing evening at home. We sat outside together sharing some Trader Joe’s Merlot while Jordan grilled some delicious chicken thighs. I also whipped together some mashed potatoes & corn for the sides. I watched “Underworld” with him for the first time while we ate dinner and I loved it. I am so surprised I had not seen that movie until now.

I met my friend, Lauren, at Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve for a beautiful morning walk together on Tuesday. The weather was so nice & it was just so fun getting to talk with her as we got in 3.59 miles of enjoyable exercise. We made our way to Coco Crêpes afterwards for some coffee & I also picked up a crêpe to-go to have for lunch a bit later on.

Once I got home I began working on my projects and enjoyed my Chicken & Spinach Crêpe for lunch out on the patio. This crêpe had grilled chicken, spinach, mushrooms, mozzarella cheese and a mushroom pesto sauce. It is always so darn good!!

I spent the rest of my Tuesday working on some chores & relaxing until Jordan got home from work. He made some jambalaya for dinner that was so flavorful & delicious. We ate it as we watched “Underworld: Evolution” before calling it a night.

I have spent most of this lovely Wednesday continuing to work on my current projects, writing today’s recap, tidying up the apartment, and relaxing with my fur babies (say “hello” to Minerva y’all). I could possibly be returning to do some coaching starting next week so I’m trying to get the things I need done at home before that begins. The thought of me going back to work is nerve-wracking & exciting all at once. I’m very excited to see my skaters again, but I’m also anxious about how life will be once it all begins to speed up again. I’m sure many of you can relate to this.

Well that’s a wrap for today y’all! I hope that each of you have a nice rest of your week and a lovely weekend. I can’t wait to be back for next week’s recap & more.

XOXO, Paige.
