Hello my lovely readers, I can’t believe it has been over 2 months since my last blog post… Life has been crazy, but also so incredible the last month. As I’m sure most of you know, Jordan & I said “I DO” on November 16th, 2019 and it was the greatest, most magical day of my entire life. I am so excited to share the first part of our special day with you all. ❤️
“Every once in awhile in the middle of an ordinary life, LOVE gives us a fairytale.” This quote had never seemed more true until our wedding day arrived. The love that Jordan & I share with each other has always felt magical to me, but the warmth, romance, and natural glow of our love shined brighter than it ever has on our big day! When I woke up that Saturday morning, I felt calm & excited. I was so ready to head to the bridal cottage at the venue to start getting ready for everything and to enjoy the morning with my girl’s. My sweet friend, Lauren, picked me up to take me to the venue & even brought me a Starbucks cappuccino with “Mrs. Muse” written on it.
Getting ready went fairly smooth. I made a playlist of fun, upbeat songs as well as all my favorite love songs too. My hair stylist, Jordan Baker, outdid herself yet again and the make-up artist, Amanda Herrera, from Ever After Glam was amazing!! I couldn’t have picked a better crew to get us all dolled up.
I had so much fun picking out all the details to compliment my dress. I said “YES” to Hayley Paige’s “Frida” gown and had a rose gold belt added to it. The dress captured every essence that I was searching for. I didn’t have an exact look in my head when I went to look for my gown, but I wanted some that was a good mix of elegant, sexy, and romantic. I was blown away when I found the gown and it was so easy to choose the sparkly Corral boots & beautiful rose gold Kendra Scott jewelry to pair with it.
I was very happy to have found the perfect style ring for Jordan’s wedding band. We had been searching for something that suited his style. He wanted a dark band, but for it to be a little different from the typical men’s wedding bands and one of our jewelry consultants happened upon this Triton band that came in black with 2 rows of black sapphires. It is the most beautiful/handsome men’s wedding band I have ever seen. Jordan did an incredible job finding my wedding band as well. The vintage style suits my engagement ring perfectly. I couldn’t have wished for anything more beautiful. Let’s sneak over to the groom’s lodge for a bit to see what all Jordan was up to…. Jordan & the rest of the guys arrived at the venue a little bit later in the day to get themselves ready. Jordan did a great job in picking out the suits for himself & his best men/groomsmen. I loved the maroon on him. 😍
Jordan ordered these handmade cigar holders from Etsy for all of his guys!
Those boutonnières!! I was so obsessed with how all of the floral turned out. We had a family friend, Marti Boone, create the most whimsical, fall arrangements for the boutonnières, the cross piece for the ceremony, and my favorite arrangement at our sweetheart table (which you will see later on).
Some very special photos of Jordan with his Dad & brother/best man Luke, his Mom & Dad, and with his grandfather.
Jordan & his greatest friend’s! They had an awesome lodge to hang out & get ready in that day.
Holy smokes!!! I really don’t know how I got so lucky scoring this guy! Handsome? Heck yes. Smoking hot? Definitely. ❤️
I absolutely loved all of the details in his look. From the shoes, to the tweed vest, to the floral tie. He looked amazing! And then it was time for me to put on my gown. Seeing my look come fully together gave me butterflies. I couldn’t wait to walk out the bathroom doors to show my Mother & my girl’s, but I especially couldn’t wait to see Jordan’s face as I walked down the aisle.
These pearls belonged to my great grandmother, Granny Doris, and after she passed away my grandmother & aunt had the pearls made into bracelets for each of them. My grandmother offered to let me borrow the pearls for the wedding day, which was such an honor. I loved being able to wear such a special item on such a special day.
First look with my Father. This moment was incredible & so emotional for everyone. I’m very blessed to have such a loving Father to share the special moments with.
My Bride Squad! These people have been my rock’s through many time’s in my life & I was so happy to have each of them stand with Jordan & I as we said “I Do.”
Just a little while before I officially became Mila’s step-mother. To me, Mila has been a daughter for a long time and marrying her father just solidified it. I will always love her as if she were mine and I feel extremely blessed that God has chosen me to play such a special role in her life.
A few bridals for you! We decided to go with artificial flowers for the bouquets & I thought they turned out beautifully. My mother, sister, and grandmother put the arrangement together. They found of the flowers at good ole Hobby Lobby.
Jordan & I did a “first touch” moments before the ceremony took place. We wanted to wait to see each other, but it was so stinking hard to not peek around that wooden door. I didn’t do it, but I surely wanted to lol. It felt nice being able to hold his hand and hear his voice after going the whole night before and day of without seeing each other.
The ceremony began at about 5pm. The sun was shining & the weather was perfect! It was beautiful.
Our cute ring bearer. My little brother, Hudson, couldn’t have looked anymore handsome that day.
Our sweet Mila as the flower girl. She couldn’t forget to give Daddy a hug before she sat down.
And there it was, the moment I had been waiting for all day long. His face couldn’t have made me smile any bigger. Watching his eyes fill up with happy tears as my father walked me towards him..ugh… it’s making me tear up just writing it out & remembering it all over again.
I asked both my Mother & Father to give me away, which was very special for me.
Just like that, Jordan and I were hand in hand walking towards our forever. The ceremony was amazing. I felt our love beaming through the clouds the entire time, but the personal vows were my favorite part. Jordan and I each wrote special vows to each other & I also had some vows for Mila. 💕
“As this ring has no end, neither shall my love for you.”
“I now pronounce you husband & wife. Jordan you may kiss your bride.” -Pastor Chris
Our very first steps as Mr. and Mrs. Muse!
We made our bridal party & family dance down the aisle to “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” by Queen. It was epic!
That’s a wrap! I hope y’all enjoyed the first part of our special day. I will be back soon with so much more that I cannot wait to share.
XOXO, Mrs. Muse.
Congratulations 🎉
