Hello everyone and happy Wednesday! I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend and beginning to your week. Last time I was here I had just wrapped up my 10-Day Green Smoothie/Advocare Cleanse, so I am back to catch y’all up with what I’ve been up to lately. Saturday, April 6th, Jordan and I took Mila to the Houston Museum of Natural Science for her first time. We had a blast checking out the mummies, dinosaur fossils, and their special exhibit of “Death by Natural Causes.”
We were absolutely starving on our way home after not eating all day, so we decided to pick up food to go from Craft Grill. I ordered grilled chicken, mushrooms, and mashed potatoes. I only ate half of this meal and it absolutely destroyed my stomach. I have realized since finished the cleanse that dairy is not my friend whatsoever and I’ve also noticed that chicken kind of upsets my stomach also, but I can handle gluten just fine. I’m assuming this meal was cooked with butter & I wasn’t very smart when ordering mashed potatoes. I endured a very painful evening curled up in bed most of the night.
I spent Sunday morning with my bridesmaid’s and mom picking out dresses for the wedding. We found some beautiful bridesmaid dresses for all the girls and I’m so excited about it! We all went a place called Akahi together to get some sushi for lunch. I was so nervous to eat after what happened the night before, but sushi was just fine!!
I was so excited that sushi treated my stomach well and it tasted so good, so I asked Jordan if we could go get some for dinner later that night and he gladly agreed to that suggestion. It was delicious! I ordered the Shaggy Dog roll both times and Jordan ordered the Rocket Roll with no jalapeño.
I started feeling really ill on Monday. My stomach was still trying to adjust to eating whole foods and my doctor also took 5 days to get my blood pressure medication refilled so my body was all out of whack until Friday. I wasn’t able to workout at all last week due to a severe lack of energy, a high heart rate, and gaining 7 pounds of water weight all from not having my medicine. I was very disappointed last week, but I listened to my body and rested when I could. I did play soft ball with my team on Monday night and afterwards we all went to a pizza place called Mellow Mushroom. This pizza place was so cool because you can make all kinds of special requests for your pizza. I ordered a personal sized pizza with vegan cheese, olive oil base, and pepperoni. It tasted very good and didn’t upset my stomach at all.
On Tuesday I made spaghetti squash for the first time with some ground turkey and a roasted garlic pasta sauce. I loved every bite of it and will be making it many more times.
Tuesday evening, Jordan and I went with our friend’s Jarrod and Lauren to watch the Astros play the Yankees at Minute Maid Park. They did awesome and we had an amazing time together!
Wednesday evening, Jordan and I were back at the park again to watch the Astros sweep the Yankees one more time! We had a great time enjoying two days of baseball together watching our favorite team win not once, but twice.
We were able to spend a couple of hours with our sweet Mila on Thursday, so we went on a sushi date. I think that it’s so cute how she likes sushi.
On Saturday morning/afternoon I worked with my students at a test session, where they test in front of a panel of judges to determine if they can move up in level in their skating. Two of my skater’s passed some really hard levels and I am so proud of them.
Jordan and I hosted a Game of Thrones season 8 premiere watch party and we had the best time!! Everyone dressed up as GoT characters, there was GoT themed food & drinks, and after 2 years of waiting we were finally able to watch the premiere of the last season of the greatest show with some of our best friends. I cannot wait to see the rest of this season, but I’m so sad that it’s coming to a close. I’ve been watching this show for 8 years now, so I don’t know what I’m going to do when it’s over.. Jordan and I dressed up as Queen Cersei and Jaime Lannister, which was so fun!! This was the first party we’ve hosted at our place and I don’t think we’re going to be able to ever top it honestly. ❤️

Monday evening after work I met Jordan at Gringo’s for a quick dinner before our softball games. A few of our teammates ended up joining us as well! I enjoyed my first sparkling margarita, which is a regular frozen margarita with champagne. It was so freaking good!

We had a “family dinner” with all of our neighbors by the pool on Wednesday everything. Everyone cooked and brought something to share. It was a ton of fun and we filled our bellies with yummy food!
I’ve spent this week not eating very well and no exercise still which is disappointing, but I’m ready to get back into the groove of things tomorrow. Now that my blood pressure is under control I plan to start taking my Advocare products again and get back on track with my running plan. The goal for tomorrow is to eat clean all day and get in a 2-3 mile run so wish me luck! I’m disappointed in myself for going almost 2 weeks with no exercise and not eating my best this week, but I’ve done so good for a month and sometimes we have mess ups, but what matters is getting back to it and becoming even stronger.
I hope that you all have the happiest Easter with your families and friends! I will be back to write again very soon and hopefully I’ll have a bunch of healthy recipes and running achievements to share. 😊
XOXO, Paige.
