Happy Hump Day everyone, I’m back with another fun post. Can you believe how many posts I’ve done this past week? I can’t! Hopefully I can keep up with my weekly recaps now that I’ve caught you all up on what’s going on in my life. Anyways, here is a sneak peak of our engagement pictures and a beautiful/peaceful weekend in Schulenburg, TX. Last Friday I woke up bright and early to accomplish my 2 mile run/walk intervals before meeting some of my friends for a girl’s brunch.
I met the girl’s at Toasted Yolk & ordered “The Arnold,” which is eggs Benedict with a side of their hash brown casserole & an orange mimosa. After brunch, I went to a nail spa nearby and got the best dip I’ve ever gotten. My fingernails feel so natural, which I love.
After my nail appointment, we got all packed up and ready to head out to Jordan’s grandparents farm in Schulenburg. They have the cutest farm on 33 acres and we thought it would be the perfect place to take our pictures as well as getting to spend some good, quality time with his grandparents and our sisters. Check out those beautiful bluebonnets. š
Saturday was the day for our picture taking, but we started the day off with coffee on the porch (his grandparents specialty), which is such a peaceful way to start the morning. I absolutely love sitting outside with nice weather, beautiful scenery, hearing the birds chirp, and having a coffee in hand. I also accomplished a very hilly 2 mile walk around the outskirts of their farm that morning. It was a very nice walk, but boy did my legs burn going up those hills. These pictures don’t do the hills justice at all lol.
We spent almost the entire day traveling around Schulenburg taking pictures. I told Jordan that it almost felt like being in a movie getting all dressed up and having our sisters pose us and take our photos all day. My sister has been getting into photography & doing an awesome job so we had her take our engagement photos. Jordan’s sister also came along to help out with all the posing details. They were a great team!
We took a little break from photo taking while waiting for the sun to set & headed to a very cute, little steakhouse in town. I ordered their corn flake crusted chicken with mashed potatoes and squash casserole on the side. Their squash casserole was to die for! I need to get that recipe. š
We spent the evening drinking wine and playing “Trashcan” (a card game) with our sisters. It was the perfect way to end such a long & fun day.
Sunday, we spent another morning on the porch with the puppies. Huk was so interested/scared of all of the birds flying around. Before heading back home to Houston, we enjoyed breakfast with Jordan’s grandparents. They got us all some German kolaches from a little place in town called “Kountry Kolaches” and they are amazing! I had one that was filled with cream cheese and cherry that morning, which was delicious, but I can’t wait to try the pumpkin & cream cheese flavor in the fall.
It was so nice to be able to just get away for a weekend and relax. We also loved getting to spend time with our family. ā¤ļø When we arrived home Sunday afternoon, Jordan and I headed to the grocery store to grab some essentials & to grab everything I needed to start my cleanse the next morning. I am currently on day 3 of a mixture of the 10-Day Advocare & Green Smoothie Cleanse. I have done both of these cleanses before in the past, but I decided to do them together this time. My next post will be all about this 10 Day cleanse, so I will give you all the details on it then! However, I am keeping a daily log of my meals/workouts on my fitness instagram page @mother_of_running if y’all want to check that out while you’re waiting. š
I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your day and I can’t wait to be back with my next post soon!
XOXO, Paige.
