January Highlights: Rockets, Family & Friend Time, and Monster Jam!

Good morning everyone and happy Hump Day! I hope you all have had a wonderful week so far. I haven’t written since the beginning of January and I had promised to begin weekly recaps this month, but that obviously hasn’t begun yet. Do y’all ever get in a funk? I feel like I’ve been in such a funk this month. I’m not sure if it’s winter blues or something else, but I am so ready to be positive and motivated to live each and everyday to it’s absolute fullest.

Today I plan to share some of the highlights of this month 😊 When I left you guys last time, I had shared a bunch of our meals and how we wanted to begin eating in this new year. We’ve been doing a really good job at eating more veggies, healthy carbs, and getting most of our protein from fish. Eating this way has made me feel really good, so I’m excited to keep it up! I have become obsessed with couscous and H-E-B’s basil pesto salmon! 😍

Last week was definitely my worst week of eating this month because I ended up getting sick and just wanted to eat something quick and that sounded good, which mostly consisted of fast food… Next time I’m ill, I need to have some quick things to throw together at home. Poor Mila broke her tibia at the beginning of the month while jumping on a trampoline. The first time we were able to spend some time with her since the break we took her to Jordan’s parents house and I picked up some jewels to bedazzle her cast. She had so much fun decorating her cast and I’m so excited that we were able to bring some joy & positivity to the situation for her. ❤️ Jordan got his first tattoo a few weeks ago and it is amazing! My Dad got Jordan a tattoo for his Christmas gift and had their tattoo artist come to the house to do it. Jordan has always wanted this very detailed lion and was so excited that he was able to finally do it and that it turned out as amazing as he always hoped it would. He wants to add more to the mane eventually and turn his left arm into a sleeve. I personally think it is so sexy. I love seeing him with a tattoo and can’t wait to see what else he ends up getting in the future. My Dad got a few tattoos to add to his sleeves as well. My parents ordered El Tiempo for all of us to eat for dinner. I split a red snapper dish with my Mom, which was delicious. Jordan took me to another Rockets game on January 16th. We had such a fun time cheering them on together and watching Hardin score a whopping 58 points! He’s on fire right now. The following weekend was our first weekend with Mila in week’s. We had missed having her with us so much! We spent Friday evening at dinner with my family and Saturday evening at a wedding for Jordan’s side of the family. It was a beautiful wedding at a yacht club in Lake Conroe. We had such a great time catching up with family and dancing. Last week, Jordan and I went food tasting for the wedding at a BBQ place in Tomball called, The Original Rib Tickler. The appetizers, meats, and sides were amazing. This place is definitely our top contender so far! I spent 4 days locked up in the apartment in bed because I was so sick… I had no energy to walk around, but by Friday my body was so sore from lying and sitting down that I had to go do something. I had spent the week doing some wedding planning and decided to go look at Michael’s & Hobby Lobby after eating some brunch on Friday. My Mom ended up meeting me at Michael’s where we found some decorations for the reception and ceremony then I went to Hobby Lobby with Bailey & Brittany to look for ideas for bouquets. We found a bunch of beautiful pieces and Bailey put them all together. We’re still on the hunt for ideas, but this planning process has been so much fun! Jordan and I went to see Monster Jam this past Saturday. This event is such a cool thing to go watch. It’s amazing to see what these massive trucks can do!

Later that evening we also met up with some friends at District 249 for some drinks and dancing. 💃🏼🕺🏼 This Monday I ran to the store to grab a few things for breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the week. By the way, the sweet crème coconut milk creamer is so good and dairy free! I made myself an egg white bagel with some fruit and coffee for breakfast Monday. After breakfast, I went for a 30 min walk around the apartment complex followed by some yoga in the living room. I wanted to start exercising again this week, but have decided to ease back into it since I haven’t really worked out in over a month and I’ve been sick. I felt really good after doing this simple workout and am excited to do it again this morning.

I hope that you all have a great rest of your week and a fun Super Bowl Sunday! I will be back with my weekly recaps next week.

XOXO, Paige.
