Hello, hello, and happy Thursday! I am finally back after a couple of months of many trips/adventures, fun Fall plans, and getting into a slightly consistent schedule. I have so many fun things to share with y’all!
I think I forgot to mention in my last post that I was heading to Los Angeles and Santa Monica with my Mom & sister for a little girls trip right after Jordan and I got back home from Miami. I am so excited to share all of the fun things we did in Cali and I hope y’all enjoy! “I hopped off the plane at LAX with a dream and my cardigan.” I probably sang “Party in the U.S.A.” about 30 times while we were heading to Cali and was so excited that I coincidentally wore a cardigan to the airport. We checked into the Sheraton Universal late on Thursday night and slept in Friday morning before we enjoyed some breakfast in bed and got ready to head to Universal Studios. The three of us were all so excited to arrive at Universal Studios and getting to see it all decorated for Halloween was a dream come true. It’s always such an exhilarating experience walking through the Hogsmeade archway to be greeted by the full blown Harry Potter magic. I can’t help but take way too many pictures while I’m walking through Hogsmeade and the Hogwart’s castle. It’s just so beautiful & magical. We had the greatest time walking through all the cute little shops, riding the rides, and enjoying yummy treats & drinks. 🖤 We walked around a bit more of Universal Studios and some of us even enjoyed a creepy walk through of The Walking Dead before finding a spot to eat. Buca di Beppo was an awesome Italian restaurant onsite. My sister, Bailey, and I split the Parmesan chicken that came with a side of spaghetti. It was delicious!
After leaving the park, we headed to one of my mom’s dearest friend’s, Jen’s, house to stay with her and her wife, Jess, for the remainder of our trip.Saturday morning, Jen and I headed to a little coffee shop called Blue Bottle near their condo in Santa Monica. I tried an oatmilk cappuccino for the first time and loved it!
We all headed to lunch in LA at a place called Cafe Urth. I enjoyed a very yummy chicken Caesar salad. We spent the rest of the day doing tourist-y things like walking down Rodeo Drive (and peaking inside all of the exquisite shops), checking out the Hollywood sign, the Chinese theater, and meeting Alan from the “Hangover.” It was all great fun! We ended the day splitting some top notch sushi at a place called Katsu-ya! Everything I took a bite of was impeccable, but I think my favorite thing was the shishito peppers sautéed in soy sauce. Sunday was our last full day in California, so we spent it very well in Santa Monica. We started off strong with a delicious brunch at Blue Jam. I ordered a custom egg scramble with mushrooms & feta cheese. It also came came with breakfast potatoes & toast on the side. Jen ordered some awesome French toast made with corn flakes for us all to split as a breakfast dessert. We spent practically the entire day at Santa Monica beach, which is just a few steps away from Jen & Jess’s condo. It was so pretty to look at and the weather was even better! Also, our friend, Tommy, who had just recently moved to L.A. met up with us on the beach and happened to take some epic photos! We headed over to a vegan restaurant called Gratitude for dinner. I really like this restaurant because they not only are creative with their menu, but they are also very fun! Each item on the menu is labeled with an adjective like magical, amazing, wise, etc. so when you order you have to say “I am magical” or so on and so forth. I shared vegan nachos & Buffalo cauliflower with my mom and Tommy. The cheese was made out of cashews and it tasted really good, which I thought was pretty cool!
I have so much catching up to do on here and can’t wait to share so much more with you all! I hope that you have a very happy Thursday evening. I’ll be back very soon!
