Hello, hello everyone! I hope that you all are having a wonderful Summer so far and had a very Happy Father’s Day! So many fun & exciting things have happened the last couple of months and I cannot wait to share them with you. A little over a month ago, Jordan and I decided to adopt a puppy from the Montgomery County Shelter. Jordan had been wanting to get a dog very badly for a few months now and I finally gave in once I saw this puppy’s sweet little face and fun personality. Everyone say hello to Huk! We are loving our new bundle of joy and I’m so excited to watch him grow and become a great walking/running buddy.
I performed at a “Once Upon a Time” themed ice skating show with one of my students at the Galleria mall on May 5th and 6th, which was super fun! It’s always a great experience getting to perform on the ice again.
On May 12th, the rink held their Spring Show “Jungle Jive.” This was such a fun show to be apart of. I was able to direct the costumes again and loved how everything turned out as did the skaters, which is certainly the most important thing. I also had the privilege of choreographing my first solo show routine for my student, Lauren. She skated beautifully and looked super cute skating to “Let me take you to Rio.”
A few hours after the show was the wedding of one of my childhood, skating friends. There were so many of my old skating friends and coaches there and it was an absolute blast to catch up and dance with everyone, not to mention the bride and the wedding were both gorgeous.
The following day was Mother’s Day and I spent the day with my family out by the pool! It was such a fun and relaxing day celebrating my Mother.
The Friday before Memorial Day, Jordan and I had a date night at City Centre. We tried Capital Grille for our first time and absolutely loved it.
When we first arrived this note card was set on the table for Jordan to read. I had lost a bet two years in a row by playing a game of washers, so after the second time I thought “why not?” I decided to surprise him (kind of because I’m pretty sure he figured out where we were going before we arrived…) with with a special date after all of the amazing things he has done for me. He had such a big smile on his face when he sat down and read his card.
We started off with ordering their wine special for the night. It was called “Lion Tamer” and it tasted amazing!
We also ordered some calamari as an appetizer. I love ordering calamari at nice restaurants because they flavor it so well with either jalapeños or peppers of some kind.
For the main course, Jordan and I split their dry-aged porterhouse steak with some lobster mac & cheese on the side.
I usually skip dessert at restaurants because everything is so filling, but once our waiter set down the dessert menus and Jordan and I both spotted the warm double chocolate cake, we just had to try it. Let me tell you, it was worth it. It was so warm and chocolate-y, I honestly wish I could be eating it again right now…
Once we couldn’t fit anything more into our bellies we decided to walk around City Centre for a bit. We came across the courtyard area and there happened to be a really good band playing some old school jams. I loved getting to just sit and watch the singing, kids running around playing, people dancing & laughing, all while holding Jordan’s hand. I live for those moments of pure joy and happiness, not just my own, but everyone surrounding me.
The following Saturday was the first Saturday that I haven’t had to work in a very long time. It felt so nice to be able to sleep in until 10am. After getting an amazing sleep and letting the pup out for a bit, Jordan and I went to a nearby CoCo Crêpes for brunch. We each got our favorite egg filled crêpes and some lattes. After breakfast we ran some errands and got ready to hang out by the pool before heading to a Memorial Day party.
We spent a couple of hours in our apartment pool talking with some of our fun neighbors before loading up and heading to my grandparents party. We brought Huk with us and had a super fun time.
Sunday, we did some more sleeping in (I caught up on so much sleep) and then headed to brunch at The Toasted Yolk. Jordan ordered their breakfast burrito and I ordered “the Toasted Yolk” which was two slices of toast with an egg cooked into each of them. I also got a yummy mimosa.
We spent another day out by the pool. We started out at our apartment then we headed over to one of Jordan’s friends house. We all swam, played with the puppy, and grilled some yummy dinner.
Monday was another pool day. I can’t even explain to you how nice it was to just relax, get tan, eat yummy food, and spend time with fun people. I made some homemade jalapeño poppers that Jordan threw on the grill along with some hot dogs. We both ended up full and happy that day. 😊
Later that week I went bowling at Bowl & Barrel in City Centre for my good friend, Ashton’s, birthday. When I arrived, Ash asked me to be one of her bridesmaids. I was so happy to be asked to be apart of her special day and cannot wait to help her through some of the most special memories in her life.
That following weekend, I met with Ash, her mom, and the rest of her bridal party for brunch and to try on our bridesmaids dresses. My cheeks were hurting from laughing and smiling, so I think that tells you how much fun we all had that day.
The following Monday, I spent some time having breakfast and watching a movie with my grandmother. She was in town taking care of my parents house while they all went to London & Belfast. Her and I had quite the feast and we watched “Murder on the Orient Express,” which ended up being way better than either of us had expected.
And this is where I’ll wrap up my life update. I have some more fun things to share with you later this week. I will be working on an exciting fitness/clean eating challenge that I’m super stoked about!! Anyone is welcome to join in and please feel free to share your journey throughout the challenge. I hope that you all have a wonderful Tuesday.
XOXO, Paige.
