Hello everyone, I hope you have all be doing well and enjoying/embracing the best season of the year. It’s starting to cool down a bit in Houston, which has been super nice!A couple of Tuesday’s ago, I went to watch my youngest brother, Hudson, practice flag football. It was so cute watching all of the 5 and 6 year olds running around trying to get each other’s flags or score a touchdown. I love football.
The following Wednesday, I continued my clean eating and made two egg whites, two whole eggs, and a wheat English muffin for breakfast.
I also worked out my legs and did some cardio. I was sore for about 2-3 days after that workout (lol)!
For lunch, I baked a small red potato in the oven (seasoned with light virgin olive oil, garlic powder, and a Parmesan seasoning), I scrambled up a few eggs, and had some leftover zucchini from the night before.
That Friday, I treated myself with a manicure and pedicure. I absolutely loved how my nails turned out. I love the shape that they got them and I also love this color for Fall.
That evening, my Mom made some spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. It was delicious!
Saturday after work, I had some lunch & drinks with my parents and brother’s at Bar Louie before they drove me to the airport. I enjoyed their “Clover” and “Cosmo” martinis, along with a California chicken club (with no avacado). It was really nice getting to sit down and have a nice lunch with them before I went away for the weekend. My life has been so busy lately, which makes me really appreciate the time I get to spend with my loved ones.
Saturday evening, I flew to Midland to visit Jordan. While I was on the plane, I began reading the first few chapters of “The Girl On The Train.” The book is really good so far. I can’t wait to read the rest of it and then see the movie.
After my plane landed, I received this message from Jordan. It made my heart melt. Even though I had just seen him the weekend before, I missed him dearly and couldn’t wait to walk out of that airport and into his arms.
We went out for some hibachi for dinner at a place called “Osaka.” They had some of the best hibachi shrimp I had ever tasted. The restaurant was also super cool looking. To get to the hibachi seating you had to walk into this big ship that was surrounded by pretty lights and waterfalls.
We slept in on Sunday and then went to watch some football. The building Jordan works at was hosting a football viewing party and was also serving some BBQ. We went to cheer on the Texans and also watched a bit of the Cowgirls game. We were obviously disappointed in the outcome of the Texans game and the fact that the Cowboys did so well, but we still had a great day!
Sunday evening, we relaxed & watched some more football/some of the Presidential debate.
Jordan’s roommate made an incredible dinner for us Sunday night. He smoked a pork tenderloin that was stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon (super healthy right? Who cares it tasted amazing). He also smoked some boudin and made some jambalaya. We ended the night super happy, relaxed, and with full bellies.
I was sad to say goodbye to Jordan on Monday morning after spending such an amazing weekend with him, but I knew we wouldn’t be away from each other for long. He was moving back home that same week and I couldn’t be more excited. ❤️
After I flew back home on Monday morning, I had to jump right back into the swing of things. I immediately had to start studying for a statistics test and take the test before heading to work that afternoon. Last Tuesday, I made myself garlic pesto salmon, wild long grain rice, and black beans for lunch before I went on a 2 mile run. It felt amazing outside, so my run was awesome!
Wednesday morning, I met with my friend, Brittany, to study at the Corner Bakery Cafe. I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, and a cappuccino.
Wednesday evening, I had dinner with Jordan’s family. Once we all finished eating, Jordan had finally made it to Houston to move into his new apartment. I can’t even explain to y’all how excited I was to see him and help him start this next chapter of his life! Friday evening, I went to watch Hudson’s first flag football game with my family, Jordan, Mila, and Jordan’s brother, Luke. Hudson’s little team had a rough first game, but they had a blast and so did the rest of us.
After I finished work on Saturday morning, Jordan and Mila came to the rink to skate with me. We got Mila some little double-blades that went around her shoes. She loved it and honestly Jordan wasn’t a bad skater. I must say that I was very impressed by his skills. We had such a great time!!
Saturday evening, Jordan, Bailey, Brittany, Luke, and I went to the Austin County Fair in Bellville, TX. We had such an amazing time! I’ve been to the rodeo quite a few times, but I’ve never been to a fair before and it was such a great experience. They had live music (which consisted of The Randy Rogers Band and Wade Bowen), carnival rides, yummy food, beer, and livestock. It’s fun living in Texas! ❤️
On Sunday, I went to watch Davis play baseball with my family & grandparents. Afterwards, we all went to the Harris County Smokehouse for some BBQ. I ordered the very healthy chicken fried chicken (lol) and some Pinot noir. Yes, both of those glasses were mine…😂🍷
Monday ended up being a busy day!! I had theater on ice practice in the morning, homework/organizing during the day, and coaching in the evening. After work, I met with Jordan to workout and then I made us tilapia, wild long grain rice, black beans, and zucchini for dinner. Food didn’t end up being ready until about 11pm, so we decided to eat in bed while we watched Kevin Hart. It was such a wonderful evening to end a very busy Monday.
I’ve been so excited to share my blog posts with y’all lately because I truly have been genuinely happy with my life and where things are heading. I can’t wait to share more and hope that you are all feeling just as blessed as I do. I hope that you all have a wonderful rest of the week and I’ll be back to write very soon!!
XOXO, Paige.
