Positivity is Key

Hey y’all, I hope that you had a nice week and 4th of July weekend! My week started off well, but I began to feel stressed and a bit under the weather. Do you ever have those days when it feels like your not entirely in your body, you’re just sort of going through the motions of your day to day life and not fully enjoying it? That was me last week, so I decided to give myself a relaxing and enjoyable weekend to soak up some sunshine & positivity, and let me tell you, it certainly worked!!

Last Saturday, I spent the day out by the pool with my family. That was a very nice day. I read more of “Me Before You,” tried to tan my skin, swam, and ate yummy, fresh food.

On Sunday, my sister and I went to the Woodlands with a couple of our friends to do some shopping and have dinner together. I always love going to the Woodlands. We started off getting coffee at Starbucks to energize ourselves for all the shopping.

I found this adorable Cinderella quote at one of the boutiques we went into. “Cinderella never asked for a Prince she asked for a dress and a day off.”

After lots and lots of shopping, we had dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. I orded the Chicken de Pana, which is herb crusted chicken cooked in white wine sauce paired with broccoli and mashed potatoes. Each of us also ordered a cheesecake for desert, because why not? It was absolutely delicious!

I managed to get a few things done on Monday before going to watch my brother’s baseball game. I tanned outside for a bit, went to the gym for a light 2 mile run since it’s way too hot to run outside, and stopped by the grocery store to grab a few things.

After baseball, my family and myself ate some yummy Tex-Mex at Rico’s. I ordered a half-serving of the beef fajitas.

On Tuesday my fur babies were both spayed. I think this was one of the main reasons I felt so stressed last week. I worried all of Monday night before their surgery and woke up at 3am Tuesday morning because I couldn’t sleep. Their surgeries went perfectly! When I brought them home,  Luna (my black cat), was so mad. Some cats don’t do well on anesthesia.. It made her very angry, which was actually quite funny to watch. For those of you who have seen “Zootopia,” she reminded me of the black panther that goes savage lol.

I caught up on some school after coaching on Wednesday morning. Later on, my family and I went out for dinner and the movies. We saw “The Shallows,” which was a fantastic movie!! Such a thriller. We all love watching stuff about sharks and this past week was “Shark Week,” which made seeing “The Shallows” even more exciting. My parents and my two brother’s went out of town this past weekend for a baseball tournament, so my sister and I took care of the house while they were away. We ordered some Panera for lunch before I headed to work that evening. I got their chicken Caesar salad without Parmesan cheese and croutons.

After I got of work on Thursday evening, Bailey and I met with a friend of mine for dinner at MOD Pizza. That place is so yummy. You’re able to create your own customized, personal size pizza.

I had work Friday morning, but once I got done, I made myself a green smoothie and Bailey & I decided to have a pool day. Neither one of us felt very good that day so we just wanted to relax. We spent time soaking up as much sunshine as possible and reading our books.

Saturday was a relaxing day as well. We cleaned up the house and watched Game of Thrones. Later that evening, a friend of ours came over to spend the night. We ordered some pizza and literally laughed the entire night. I love being around people that make me genuinely happy. ❤️Sunday morning, I woke up early to take an exam and then I got my sister out of bed to head to church. I haven’t been regularly going to church in years and have been telling myself for months now that I’m going to go every Sunday. I finally got myself there yesterday and it was such an amazing experience. I love the chills I get during the services, they remind me that I’m here for a purpose and to let go and let God. Attending church fully extinguished the stress I had previously. Can’t wait to go back next Sunday!!

After church, Bailey and I ate at Salata and picked up some Starbucks coffee before heading home to get ready for a wedding.

Sunday evening, Bailey and I attended one of our childhood best friend’s wedding. It was such a special thing to watch her and her husband get married. They had their wedding at a place called “The Hodge Podge Lodge,” which was an adorable, old country house with a beautiful backyard. The ceremony and reception were held outside. They served breakfast for dinner, which is one of my favorite things!

After the wedding, I watched the last two episodes of Game of Thrones with Bailey. It was AWESOME watching those two over again.

******SPOILERS BELOW****** The season finale this year was one of the best episodes I have ever watched! So much happened, so many people died, and one of my favorite theories came true!! I am so happy that Jon Snow is Lyanna Stark’s son. I knew that there was no way Ned would cheat on his wife. I also can’t believe that we have a new “King of the North” and winter has finally come. So now Cersei is ruling Westeros, which is a very scary thought, but it was awesome watching her destroy her enemies. I love Cersei, I love Daenerys more of course, but there is something about Cersei that I love. I also loved that Arya finally has come back to Westeros and that she did it with a huge bang. Bye bye Walder Frey! Okay, last thing. I have a feeling that Daenerys and Jon are going to marry each other and rule the seven kingdoms, I also think that they will both be able to destroy the white walkers. We shall see what happens next season. Cannot wait until April 2017!!!!!!

I hope that you all had a great 4th of July weekend!! I’ll be back very soon!

XOXO, Paige.
