Hey y’all, I hope that you all had a terrific Memorial Day weekend! Mine was very relaxing.
I mentioned on Friday how badly it rained here. I took this picture on our way home from the baseball fields on Saturday. We were unable to watch any of Davis’ games on Saturday because the parking lot was flooded and the extra parking lot was a mad house.
After a failed attempt to watch some baseball, my mom, sister, Hudson, and I went to grab a bite to eat at one of our go to Tex-Mex restaurants, Rico’s. I order a grilled shrimp salad with Italian dressing. It was very good.
I felt so bad for missing Davis’ games on Saturday, so I promised him I would go to watch his 8am game on Sunday. We left the house at 6:45am. My Dad and I were so tired after the first game that we took a nap in his truck while listening to some classical music (lol).
After being on the fields from 8am-8pm, Davis’ team won the entire tournament and became the state champions for their age group. I am so proud of his dedication to the sport and absolutely love watching him play. He is so talented and I cannot wait to see what the future of baseball holds for him.
I wasn’t able to watch Game of Thrones Sunday night, so once I came home from coaching Monday morning, I cozied up with a warm, hazelnut coffee and watched the latest episode with my Grandmother. All I can say is “all hail Daenerys.”
I ate so badly this weekend, so I made sure to start off Monday by eating clean. We made Monday a TV show/movie day and I snacked on a Granny Smith apple with natural peanut butter while we watched “World War Z.” I had never seen that movie before and was very impressed that they were able to make a zombie movie that interesting, plus who doesn’t love Brad Pitt?!
My Mom has been making this delicious lemon, basil grilled chicken for some of our dinners lately.
We all mixed up our own salads with whatever dressing or toppings we wanted. I ate romaine lettuce, spinach, light Caesar dressing, and the lemon basil chicken.
After dinner, we all enjoyed this week’s episode of “The Bachelorette.” So far I really like James, Luke (the Texas boys ❤️), Alex, and Jordan. Chad needs to go though…like right now.
I woke up feeling super positive this morning and I just knew that today was going to be a great day.
After I finished coaching this morning, I made myself my favorite green smoothie. It had coconut water, spinach, kale, strawberries, banana, and natural peanut butter in it. While I was drinking my smoothie, I was sitting in the living room of my parents house begging my brother, Davis, to train for a marathon with me, with a goal of running the Disney marathon next January. He actually liked the idea, but gave me a hard time about it before he finally said “YES!” We made a deal. I had to drive him to Cici’s Pizza to get him some alfredo pizza to-go and then he would agree to train with me. I obviously went to get him some pizza. Lol!
I cooked myself a couple of eggs and put them on a whole wheat bun for lunch. Very yummy and easy to make.
After lunch, Davis and I went for a super easy run just to get things started. He is sore from his baseball tournament and he has a couple games tonight (if they don’t get rained out), so we ran a little over a mile, pretty quickly, and walked the rest
I’m sure I annoy Davis so much sometimes, but I’m really happy he is actually going to do this with me. I used to run with him a lot and I loved it, so it’s going to be a blast to train for this and actually race with him by my side. I’ve always tried to convince Davis to be my partner on the Amazing Race, so maybe after the marathon he can do that with me. 😉
I hope that you all have a wonderful week!! I’ll be back again very soon. ❤️
XOXO, Paige.
