Summer Show, Movies, and Rain

on

Hello everyone, I hope that you all are having a wonderful weekend so far! It has been 10 days since I last updated y’all with how my life has been, so I am going to write a long due recap post today. I woke up at 7am today, which is early compared to when I have been waking up this week (I will explain why later), so I took my Advocare MNS C vitamins and I’m now ready to blog away with a coffee in hand.

This is my cozy bed that I am sitting in while I write. I really need to get some new sheets for the Summer.
So I am going to pick up where I left off on my last blog post, which was half way through Wednesday, May 18th. On Wednesday evening, I went with my family to Coco Crepes for my Aunt’s birthday. We all ate outside at a giant table, which was so nice because the weather was great, but it did also give the little ones (my little brother Hudson and cousin Dylan) some freedom to run around.
I had fun wearing some of the new accessories I bought the day before. My sister told me that I am turning into a hipster, but I disagree with that. 😉 I love mixing different types of fashion together. I used to dress very proper and would buy most of my clothes from Anthropologie, and I still do shop there, but now I like to mix the vintage/Victorian styles with trendy pieces.I didn’t take any pictures on Thursday because it was all work and no play, unfortunately. The rink was having a Summer show, so we had dress rehearsal on Thursday evening. On Friday evening, I had to go up to the rink at 8pm to help decorate for the show. I was there until about 12am. I had gone to the grocery store Friday morning to find something to eat for dinner. I glanced at the cheese section and decided that cheese, crackers, deli meat, an apple, and a glass of red wine would be the perfect treat after working hard at the rink. I also knew that it would be really late for me to eat, so I ate a dark chocolate, peanut butter Kind Bar with a cappuccino before work. I never eat food that late, but it was really nice to come home after a very long day, put on a movie, and enjoy my lovely spread of food and a glass of wine.

We had a terrific show on Saturday. The theme was “Colors on Ice,” and my friend Allison skated to “Yellow” by Coldplay. Her dress was beautiful and so was her show program. After the show, Allison and I met up with my sister and our other friend, Fallon for some sushi. Fallon and I each ordered a roll and split them. I ordered the Califronia Roll and she ordered the Shaggy Dog Roll. I know that Shaggy Dog doesn’t sound appeasing whatsoever, but that roll really is delicious. After sushi we took some goofy pictures outside. I think Allison is a little too tall for Bailey to hold. 🙂Bailey, Allison, and I went to see Neighbors 2 at the movie theater later that evening. The movie was hilarious, but I think we had even more fun trying to take pictures with this “Angry Birds” movie display. Bailey took the best picture, so I thought I’d just share that one.

I didn’t take any pictures on Sunday, but my family and I spent the day at the baseball fields watching my brother, Davis play. My entire family had been sick with a cold/flu that week and I finally joined them on Sunday… We have all been making it through each day with the help of DayQuil and NyQuil. On Monday, I didn’t wake up until 11:40am!! I spent the entire day in bed until my family and I went to watch Davis’ first game of the season with his new High School prep team that evening. I love watching him play ball! After baseball, we watched the DWTS finale and the premiere of the Bachelorette. We love Jojo and are so excited for this season!! ❤️I stayed sick this entire week. I couldn’t go in to skate or do any other type of exercise because I felt so weak. I literally woke up at 11am almost everyday, which is crazy since  I had been waking up at 5:30am almost everyday the week before and exercising, but that didn’t happen this week. On Wednesday night I thought I felt better and decided to have some wine instead of NyQuil since it was National Wine Day, but that was a terrible decision… I woke up the next day feeling even more congested and almost felt like I was sleep walking through the day.

Once I started to feel a bit better Thursday, I made a run to the grocery store to get myself some healthy food for my apartment and some things for my grandmother to eat because she is coming in town on Saturday and will be spending the next few weeks with us. My family and I are so excited! On Thursday evening, I managed to make it to work and I came home to a delicious smelling house. My Mom made grilled chicken seasoned in herbs & lemon, asparagus, corn on the cob, and mashed red potatoes. This was such a yummy meal.

Friday (yesterday), I spent the day cleaning my apartment, doing laundry, and watching Game of Thrones. I am so in love with this season and I have been re-watching the entire series as well, so yesterday I watched a couple episodes from season 3. It rained really hard on Friday, resulting in a lot of flooding (AGAIN!!), so I spent the whole day indoors. Later that evening I watched “Eddie the Eagle” with my family. That was one of the best movies I had ever seen. Eddie’s story is truly heart warming and inspiring.

Today, my grandmother is coming in town and I am spending another day at the baseball fields. I’m hoping to hit up the movie theater a few times this week because I love movies and because some great new movies have come out or are coming out. I’m dying to see “Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass,” “Angry Birds,” and “Me Before You.” Also, have any of you seen the new teaser trailer for “Beauty and the Beast”??? I am beyond stoked. I plan on going to see that movie the night it comes out!

I hope that you all have a great weekend!! Enjoy the new Game of Thrones episode on Sunday night and I hope that those of you who have been or are sick like my family and I have been, start feeling better very soon. I cannot wait to finish getting over this flu and lace up my running shoes (and ice skates) next week.

Love you guys and please feel free to leave any comments! I would love to hear what your favorite movies are, what you think of this season of Game of Thrones, or anything else. I’ll be back to write again very soon!

XOXO, Paige.
