Day 1 of My 10-Day Green Smoothie Cleanse!

So today was my first day of the 10-day green smoothie cleanse. It actually has gone very well. I thought I was going to be starving and crave the things that I’m used to eating everyday, but I actually haven’t. I truly believe the reason behind that is that most of the time when it comes to diet and exercise it is all in our heads. If I tell myself I am going to be okay drinking green smoothies all day for 10 days then I will be okay. All of us can do anything we want to as long as we tell ourselves it is possible and remind ourselves why we wanted to start in the first place.

The book advises you to stay away from coffee during the cleanse and recommends for you to drink tea first thing in the morning to help with the detox, so I started my day of with some green tea.

After I finished my tea, I made my smoothies for the day. The book has recipes for which smoothie you have to drink each day and it also has a bunch of different recipes in the back of the book for you to drink once the cleanse is over.

Today I made a “berry green smoothie,” which consisted of water, spinach, mangos, strawberries, grapes, apples, flaxseed, and a little bit of stevia. You’re allowed to add as much stevia to things as you want because it doesn’t cause insulin spikes due to it being all natural. I drank the berry green smoothie for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and had some fruit and a tablespoon of unsalted almond butter for snacks. I also made sure to drink at least 64 ounces of water.

I would definitely call today a success. I was able to go through my normal daily activities and also run over 2 miles while staying energized and fairly full. I also was able to stay surprisingly content while my mother made an incredible smelling dinner for the family and while everyone drank wine for bachelor night. 😊

Hope y’all had a happy Monday! I’ll be back soon!

XOXO, Paige.
